Because amber takes over 5,000 years to form, and large, flawless pieces have become increasingly scarce on the market, genuine natural amber of exceptional clarity is now difficult to find. Amber is also prized for being remarkably lightweight, allowing even large beads to be worn comfortably. This piece features sapphire amber, in which amber sourced from Lithuania is given its distinctive sapphire-blue color through a specialized artisan technique, in contrast to amber's typical yellow tone – a true showcase of craftsmanship paired with the natural material.
