I'm looking for a formal rosary made of wood, but I can't find one that I like because they look cheap.

About the Soto Zen sect

The shape of the Soto Zen rosary is very similar to that of the Rinzai Zen rosary, but a distinctive feature of the Soto Zen sect is that the rosary has a metal ring running through it.
It is unclear why it is there, but one theory is that this ring represents Bodhidharma.
