$79.00 USD

Takaoka Copperware Incense Burner, Origami Crane, Large, Antique Gold

This incense burner is cast in iron and finished in an antique gold tone, taking the shape of a folded paper crane (origami crane) resting atop its lid. In Japanese culture, the crane is a symbol of longevity and good fortune, making this piece a favorite for both personal use and gift-giving.

It is a product of Takaoka copperware (高岡銅器), a metal-casting tradition centered in Takaoka, Toyama Prefecture, with a history of over 400 years. This piece was crafted by artisan Sotaro Saegusa, reflecting the detailed casting and finishing techniques passed down through generations of Takaoka craftsmen.

How to Use

Place incense cones, coils, or charcoal directly on the ash bed inside the burner. The openings in the lid allow fragrant smoke to rise gently, making this piece suitable for tabletop display and everyday use.
