A golden full moon rises above swaying pampas grass on the surface of this incense burner, its brilliant color forming a striking contrast against the copper body. An owl, crafted in resin, perches atop the lid as the knob, adding a whimsical touch to this autumn-inspired scene.

This piece is a product of Takaoka Metalwork, a traditional craft with over 400 years of history in Takaoka, Toyama Prefecture. A skilled engraver hand-chases the pattern into the cast copper body, then applies gold and silver plating according to the artisan's own sensibility, turning a plain casting into a richly detailed work of art. The opening of the burner measures approximately 8.2 cm across.

How to Use

Fill the bowl with ash, then place a lit incense cone, stick, or piece of charcoal on top of the ash to enjoy the fragrance.
