Yakusugi trees are very old. Generally, cedar trees are said to be 500 years old, but Yakusugi trees are extraordinarily old. Trees that are over 1000 years old are called Yakusugi, and those under 100 years old are called Kosugi.
As you know, Yakusugi is also a World Heritage Site. We have made this rosary from the Yakusugi of this World Heritage Site.
Since only fallen Yakusugi trees from the World Heritage Site can be processed, we made this from fallen trees.
A characteristic of Yakusugi is that, compared to other trees such as sandalwood, the annual rings are very fine, which attracts the viewer. Also, as is the case with all trees, the more you use it as a characteristic of the tree, the deeper the color will become.
As you use it, you will grow to love it more and more as the deep color is added to the fine pattern of the annual rings that are unique to Yakusugi.
Also, in reference to the long life of Yakusugi trees,
why not give it as a gift to your grandparents,
with the wish that they will live a long life?
Since it is a rosary made of wood, I think it can be worn regardless of age.
