Kyo-o-gokoku-ji Temple (Toji Temple) was founded by Emperor Kanmu in 796 and was bestowed by Emperor Saga to Kobo Daishi Kukai in 823. Kukai established this temple as the fundamental training center for Shingon Esoteric Buddhism, and since then, it has attracted the devout faith of many people from all over the country, regardless of sect, to the present day.
It is also known as the starting temple (Temple 0) for the pilgrimage of the 88 sacred places of Shikoku, and is a representative Japanese temple registered as a World Heritage Site.

Keikamon

The "Keikamon", which means "celebration", has been guarding the northeast of Kyoogokokuji Temple (Toji Temple) for 1200 years.
It was originally a special gate for imperial envoys used by the emperor, and is also famous as the gate that welcomes the gods of Fushimi Inari Shrine during the "Inari Kanko Festival" held every year on May 3rd.

3D Mandala

It took ten years to build this mandala, thanks to the strong faith of Kobo Daishi Kukai.
It was completed in the year of his death. It is a world in which the Daishi's ideas are condensed. It is the universe of Shingon Esoteric Buddhism, consisting of 21 Buddhist statues, including the Five Wisdom Buddhas, centered around Dainichi Nyorai, and these Buddhas are the essence of Japanese Esoteric Buddhism.
