Tiger amber is an especially rare form of amber, fossilized from resin believed to have mingled with ancient tree bark and leaves, giving it a distinctive black-and-yellow pattern. Blue tiger amber is a still rarer variety, difficult to source consistently. The difference between blue tiger amber and blue tiger's eye lies in the clarity of the pattern -- blue tiger amber shows a noticeably sharper, more defined marking. Set against a blue ground, the bold black pattern characteristic of tiger amber gives this strand a striking, masculine presence, with each bead's individual pattern entirely unique. Larger beads add to the strand's commanding look. Note: this tiger amber also formed alongside autumn foliage, so occasional reddish tones may be visible within the pattern.
