Its defining feature is the Schiller effect – a soft, pale glow that reflects off the stone's curved surface, glowing especially bright and blue when light catches it in a darker setting. Moonstone is the birthstone for June and is believed to ward off evil spirits, making it a longtime favorite among collectors.
