Japanese Gardens is a fragrance series by Kunjudo that captures five iconic scenes of the traditional Japanese garden — its still ponds, raked stone, soft moss, quiet tea garden, and miniature bonsai — each expressed as its own distinct incense.

Fragrance Variations

Pond Garden
A fresh, cool waterside fragrance. A refreshing aquatic note is layered with a subtle sweetness. It resembles Moss Garden, but with more sweetness, while the scent that lingers afterward stays clean and crisp — a good choice whenever you want to refresh the air around you.

Rock Garden
An incense that expresses the warmth of stone. Built on a base of sandalwood, its calm, quiet fragrance calls to mind the scene of a karesansui, or dry landscape garden, on a clear, sunny day.

Moss Garden
An incense inspired by a Japanese garden carpeted in moss. Its refined, composed fragrance combines an aqua-green freshness with a translucent, melon-like clarity. It resembles Pond Garden, but is crisper in character, and although inspired by a Japanese garden, the scent leans more Western in style — a pleasant choice for reading or unwinding.

Tea Garden
An incense for enjoying Japanese tea while gazing out at a garden. When first lit, a refreshing note of tea spreads through the air; as time passes, sandalwood comes forward and takes the lead.

Bonsai Garden
The scent of a bonsai's leaves and trunk. What kind of fragrance comes to mind at the word "bonsai"? This incense layers a green freshness with the warm scent of trees, and rather than the firm, classical fragrance one might expect, it is in fact the gentlest, most comforting scent in the entire Japanese Gardens series.
