Women's prayer beads, Yakusugi, 8 inches, Shingon sect, yellow quartz finish

$249.00 USD
Generally, it is said that cedar trees are 500 years old, but
Yakusugi is much longer, and trees over 1000 years old are called Yakusugi, while those under 100 years old are called Kosugi.

As you know, Yakusugi is a World Heritage Site.
We have made this World Heritage Yakusugi into prayer beads.

Since Yakusugi can only be processed from fallen trees, we made these from fallen trees.

One of the characteristics of Yakusugi is that it has very fine annual rings, which attracts viewers.

Also, as is the case with all trees, the more you use it, the deeper the color becomes.
I think that if you add a deep color to the fine pattern of Yakusugi's annual rings, you will grow to love it more and more.

The prayer beads shown here were made with yellow quartz as the top and main beads.
Citrine has a golden glow reminiscent of the sun, and has long been said to be a "lucky stone" that brings prosperity and wealth in business.

★About the sect
Regarding Shingon Buddhist prayer beads, one theory is that they were the first to bring prayer beads to Japan.
Therefore, their shape is very similar to the formal prayer beads used by all eight sects.
They often have two tassels on the front and back, with a red string running through them.
The prayer beads carried by pilgrims on the pilgrimage are also slightly longer versions of these Shingon Buddhist prayer beads.
