Men's Prayer Beads, Yakusugi, 22 Beads, Bloodstone Finish, Dark Brown Tassel
Men's Prayer Beads, Yakusugi (Yaku Cedar), 22 Beads, Bloodstone Finish, Dark Brown Tassel — World Heritage Yakusugi
Cedar trees are generally said to live around 500 years, but Yakusugi cedar lives far longer, with trees over 1,000 years old called Yakusugi and those under 100 years called Kosugi. As is well known, Yakusugi is part of a UNESCO World Heritage site, and we've finished this World-Heritage-designated Yakusugi into prayer beads. Because Yakusugi is a UNESCO World Heritage site, only fallen trees may be processed into material, and these beads were made from such fallen wood. A hallmark of Yakusugi is its extremely fine growth rings among woods, which draw the eye of anyone who sees them. Like all wood, the color deepens the more it is used. As the fine growth-ring pattern unique to Yakusugi combines with this deepening color, we think your attachment to the piece will only grow. Prices for Yakusugi prayer beads may rise at any time — while material remains, we can offer this price, but the value continues to climb. We recommend purchasing sooner rather than later.
