Starry Moon bodhi seed comes primarily from trees grown on Hainan Island in China, prized among bodhi seed varieties for its dense scatter of small black flecks -- said to resemble stars -- along with a larger dark mark left where the seed once joined its stem, likened to the moon; together these give the seed its name. Most Starry Moon bodhi beads on the market are shaped into smooth, round beads, but this piece keeps the seeds in their raw, unpolished form just as they fell from the tree, retaining their natural, irregular texture. Because smaller seeds were selected for this strand, it sits especially comfortably in the hand. Finished with tiger's eye.
