This prayer beads set is carved entirely from Indian sandalwood, a fragrant wood used in incense alongside agarwood and kyara, prized for the gentle scent it releases when worn. Indian sandalwood is sweeter with a touch of tartness compared to Indonesian or Australian sandalwood, and is considered the finest and most costly of the three; supplies have grown scarce and prices have risen in recent years. Made in the unisex "Niso-han Hokke" style most commonly used within the Nichiren sect.
