While the longan bodhi seed displays a three-eyed pattern and the phoenix-eye bodhi seed a single eye, the Buddha's-eye bodhi seed is marked with a distinctive five-pointed, star-shaped pattern. Over time, natural oils within the seed gradually deepen its color toward a beautiful amber tone, growing more distinctive in texture the more it is worn and cared for. Here, the bodhi seed is paired with ebony, a slow-growing tree native to southern India and Sri Lanka prized for its hardness and commonly used in furniture and Buddhist altar fittings.
