This men's prayer beads set pairs black onyx main beads with crystal for the parent and four-heaven beads, made for practitioners of the Jodo Shinshu sect. Onyx has long been treasured as a protective talisman said to ward off evil and calm emotional turbulence, while crystal's clean brilliance pairs elegantly with formal mourning wear. One tassel carries 20 kyoshu-dama counting beads, and the other is finished with a Rennyo knot instead, characteristic of the sect.
