This men's prayer bead set is crafted from Blue Amber, an extremely rare form of amber found only in the Dominican Republic. Due to mine closures, supply has become extremely limited. This natural Dominican amber is fossilized resin from the Hymenaea hardwood tree, roughly 2,500-3,000 years old. Normally golden-brown in color, it turns a brilliant cobalt blue when exposed to sunlight's UV rays, with the shade shifting subtly depending on light intensity and angle — the color change is especially striking when worn with formal mourning attire.
