Kyocera's Original Kyoto Opal

Kyoto opal is made from the same silica particles as natural opal, carefully cultivated over a long period using Kyocera's proprietary gem synthesis technology. The distinctive play-of-color opal structure it produces is unlike anything else in the world, giving it an elegant texture that molded resin products cannot replicate. Unlike created (synthetic) opal, Kyoto opal undergoes an artificial dyeing (resin impregnation) process to bring out a wide range of vivid colors. This process also overcomes the fragility typical of natural opal, such as cracking and chipping, allowing for a wide variety of cuts. This particular Kyoto opal is especially known for its colorful pink hue, paired here with faceted quartz cut-glass beads.
