The fragrant scent of cypress, the classic stone crystal finish

"The tree is a cypress, the flower is a cherry tree, the man is a warrior"

Kiso cypress is a term referring to natural cypress distributed from the Kiso region to the Ura Kiso region (southern Hida, Tono region).

Cypress can be harvested all over Japan, but it is usually said that it takes 30 to 40 years to become building material.

However, it takes 70 to 80 years for Kiso cypress to grow.

This is due to the influence of the climate of the Kiso Valley in Nagano Prefecture, where Kiso cypress grows.

The Kiso region has low temperatures and is particularly cold in winter, making it difficult for trees to grow, but on the other hand, it has the best conditions for trees to grow in the Kiso Valley.

Because of its slender growth, beautiful grain, excellent durability and antibacterial properties,
cypress has been used for important buildings since ancient times, such as the core wood of the five-story pagoda of Horyuji Temple.

Kiso cypress has overwhelmingly finer annual rings than other cypress,
and beautiful grain.

And its soft touch, lightness and pleasant fragrance
have fascinated people since ancient times.

This time, we made a rosary using Kiso cypress as the main beads.
According to the rosary craftsman, this is the first time that natural Kiso cypress has been used luxuriously as a rosary material,
and it is probably the first time in the rosary industry.

When you pick it up, the fragrant scent of cypress tickles your nose.
We used quartz for the finish, which matches the gentle color of the wood and makes the most of the colors of other materials.

Please use these prayer beads with the unique fragrance, soft texture, and beautiful grain of Kiso Hinoki cypress for your everyday prayers. ・Main ball: Diameter approx. 1.5cm (crystal)
