Burmese Jade 7mm Bead Bracelet, Matching Set
Burmese Jade: The Emerald of the East
Jade has long been familiar to the Japanese people, used to make magatama beads as far back as the Jomon period. Prized for its rarity, it has often been called "the emerald of the East" and used in noble adornments since antiquity. Genuine Burmese jade is difficult to source, and this batch was offered in a limited run of five pieces.
The jade used in this bracelet is genuine natural jade sourced from Myanmar (Burma). Jade comes in two forms — jadeite and nephrite — and jadeite is generally considered the gemstone-grade variety. Burmese jade is a leading example of jadeite, with a hardness of 6.5 to 7 and a density greater than most other stones, giving it a satisfying heft in the hand that belies its appearance. This bracelet offers a luxurious, radiant look.
