Since this means a substantial amount of "impurity" has entered the stone, it's extremely rare for pyrite to form this way while the crystal remains clear. Crystal quartz containing needle-like inclusions is called "Rutile Quartz" (gold-wire quartz), and the way its ancient needle-like threads sparkle has long been likened to "Cupid's Arrow." From this, it came to be called the stone that brings love. It is also one of the guardian stones of Leo, and because it contains golden threads, it is said to bring in "gold thread" — a stone associated with financial fortune, popular among businessmen and those in commerce.
