An exceptionally rare, one-of-a-kind piece: jet, a coal-based material formed as driftwood sinks to the sea floor and gradually fossilizes over a vast span of time. In its raw state jet has a dull, jet-black finish, but once polished it develops a glossy, glass-like sheen. Its deep black tone pairs naturally with mourning attire, and being lighter than stone, it stays comfortable to wear all day. Jet was once widely available for jewelry, but supply has become extremely limited in recent years due to buying pressure from China, making it very difficult to source.
