Charoite: One of the World's Three Great Healing Stones

Charoite is counted, alongside sugilite and larimar, as one of the world's three great healing stones. As the name suggests, it is said to carry powerful healing energy along with a strong purifying effect.

The name "charoite" has two possible origins: one traces it to the Chara River region of Siberia where it was discovered, and the other to the Russian word "charo," meaning "to charm" or "to enchant." It was officially recognized as a distinct mineral in 1978, following years of research by mineralogist Vera Rogova.

Charoite is known for its opaque purple coloring, giving it some resemblance to sugilite, but its signature feature is a swirling marble pattern of purple and white that blends together as though painted layer upon layer, creating a truly unique appearance.
