Takaoka Metalwork Phoenix with can Incense Burner

This Takaoka copperware incense burner is cast in the form of a phoenix (hoo), a mythical bird symbolising good fortune, nobility, and rebirth in East Asian tradition. The body is fitted with a pair of ring handles (kan) at the sides and marked with a chrysanthemum crest (kikumon).

The piece is presented on its own wood stand together with a wood nameplate, and is packed in a paulownia wood box.

How to Use

Fill the burner with incense ash, then place lit incense sticks, cones, or charcoal on top of the ash to enjoy the fragrance.
