Omani Frankincense (Nyukoh) Incense Material – Resin

Tennendo Omani Frankincense (Nyukoh) in resin form is a traditional incense material prized for its long history and refined aromatic character.

Frankincense has been valued since ancient times, including in ancient Egypt, where it was regarded as an important aromatic substance. Through trade routes passing Arabia and India, it is said to have spread along pathways later known as the Silk Road, eventually reaching East Asia. This long history has shaped frankincense’s enduring role as a ceremonial and aromatic material.

Omani frankincense is widely regarded as one of the most esteemed types among Nyukoh. The resin used for this product originates from Oman, a region long associated with high-quality frankincense production.

As its Japanese name suggests, Nyukoh appears as a milky white resin when it seeps from the tree. This resin is allowed to dry naturally over time, gradually hardening into solid pieces traditionally referred to as fresh or raw frankincense. The resulting resin is firm and dense, preserving its characteristic aromatic depth.

Historical accounts from various regions describe diverse and enduring relationships with frankincense, reflecting its longstanding presence in cultural and daily life. Today, it continues to be appreciated primarily for its fragrance and symbolic heritage rather than for practical applications.

When gently heated, the resin releases a clear, calm, and slightly resinous aroma, evoking the atmosphere of early incense traditions passed down through generations.

This frankincense is offered strictly as a material for incense making. Please note that it is not intended for food use and should not be eaten or chewed under any circumstances.
