High Quality Benzoin Incense Material – Chips & Powder

Gokujyo Ansokukoh (high quality benzoin) is an incense material distinguished by its richer sweetness and smoother aromatic profile when compared with standard benzoin.

Known in Japanese as Ansokukoh and in English as benzoin, this aromatic resin is collected from evergreen trees of the storax family. These trees are primarily found in regions such as Indonesia, Malaysia, and parts of the Middle East. The resin is obtained by making small incisions in the bark, allowing it to seep out and harden before being carefully harvested.

This high quality variety of Ansokukoh is noted for its deeper, more rounded sweetness and a softer tonal balance. In comparison with regular Ansokukoh, it tends to present fewer sharp or harsh nuances, resulting in a mellower and more refined aromatic impression.

In incense making, Gokujyo Ansokukoh is valued as a stabilizing and harmonizing element. It helps unify different aromatic notes within a blend and can support a smoother and more lasting fragrance when combined with other incense materials. For this reason, it is typically incorporated as a supporting ingredient rather than a dominant note.

While benzoin appears in a variety of historical aromatic contexts, this product is offered exclusively as a material for incense making. Please note that it is not intended for food use and should be used only for incense crafting.

Chips (Cut Form)

The hardened resin is prepared in small pieces suitable for use in sachets or traditional incense practices. This form allows for the gradual release of its warm, sweet aroma.

Powder

Finely processed Gokujyo Ansokukoh that blends smoothly with other incense materials. This form is commonly used in kneaded incense or stick incense making, where consistent integration is important.
