Cuddy Shell Incense Material – Powder 10g
Cuddy Shell Incense Material – Powder
Kaikoh (cuddy shell) is a traditional incense material valued for its functional role within incense blending rather than for its aroma on its own.
Kaikoh refers to shell components, including the operculum, of large marine snails such as turban shells. Incense-grade material is mainly sourced from regions along the eastern coast of Africa, where suitable shells are collected and carefully processed for use in incense making.
When heat is applied, the shell material gradually releases a very subtle aromatic quality. Rather than serving as a primary fragrance, kaikoh is appreciated for the way it behaves within a composition when combined with other incense materials.
In incense making, kaikoh is commonly used as a stabilizing and fixative element. It helps support the structure of a blend, allowing aromatic components to remain balanced and persistent over time. For this reason, it is typically incorporated as a supporting material rather than a featured note.
This product is offered exclusively as a material for incense making. Please note that it is not intended for food use and should be used only for incense crafting.
Powder
Finely processed kaikoh suitable for use in kneaded incense or stick incense making. This form allows for even distribution, helping to support stability and consistency within incense blends.
