Kyukyodo Insect‑Repellent Incense (20 Sachets)
Kyukyodo Special Insect-Repellent Incense
This insect-repellent incense is designed for the protection of calligraphy, paintings, books, and antiques, combining fragrance with traditional practical use.
Why can a scented sachet help repel insects?
This is because ingredients such as borneol and clove, which are used in these sachets, have long been valued for their insect-repellent properties. Not all scented sachets contain these materials, which is why Kyukyodo designates products with such ingredients specifically as insect-repellent incense.
Borneol and clove have historically been used as disinfecting and preservative agents. Borneol, in particular, has also been traditionally used in a wide range of applications, reflecting its long-standing role in daily life.
How long does it last?
Depending on the environment, the fragrance gradually weakens after approximately six months to one year. Since the insect-repellent function relies on the scent, replacement is recommended once the fragrance becomes faint.
To maintain effectiveness over a wider area, it is advisable to change the placement location from time to time, allowing the fragrance to spread more evenly.
